Île des Chênes

Due to area flooding, settlers searched for an area with high ground and abundant trees and named the town Île des Chênes which translates to “Island of the Oaks”.

Due to area flooding, settlers searched for an area with high ground and abundant trees and named the town Île des Chênes which translates to “Island of the Oaks”.  The community is home to an annual baseball tournament, and features beautiful architecture in their Catholic Church.
