Are you ready to eat? Beausejour’s Chamber Eats is happening once again and will be tastier than ever! From May 1 to 14, 2021, delight your tastebuds with unique, flavorful, and sinfully delicious potato dishes at ten participating restaurants from Beausejour, Whitemouth, and Oakbank.

Chamber Eats is a two-week-long festival that celebrates the best potato dishes in the communities. Chamber Eats will be an interactive festival that connects people to food. Visit the participating restaurants listed below as they will be creating a special Potato entrée or appetizer. Customers will engage with the festival by eating a unique Potato dish, sharing their experiences on social media and voting for their best Potato dish.

Annette’s Restaurant (Beausejour) – Shepherd’s Pie Poutine

This signature poutine entrée consists of crispy fries piled high with their seasoned ground beef and mixed veggies, gravy, and topped with cheese curds. Annette’s Restaurant at the Howland Hotel located in Beausejour is a family restaurant serving delicious home-cooked meals.

Hours: Tuesday to Thursday 8 AM to 7 PM; Friday and Saturday 8 AM to 8 PM; Closed Sunday & Monday.

Back at The Ranch (Oakbank) – The Ranch Perogy Pizza

Their signature pizza entrée is made with the light crunch of their signature thin “cracker-like” crust, emboldened with fresh sour cream, a hint of zesty garlic, a heaping helping of diced savoury potatoes and sliced onion, a smattering of smokey bacon, a drizzle of Ranch dressing and finally topped off with a generous layer of Bothwell mozzarella and tangy cheddar, baked to perfection and sprinkled with fresh green scallions.

In Oakbank, the Ranch has been in operation for 17 years in this fantastic community, where friends eat, drink, and make merry. They offer dine-in, take-out & delivery. They select high-quality ingredients and provide high-quality, affordable menu items.

Hours: during Covid is Monday to Saturday 11:00 AM to 7 PM; Sunday 4:00 PM to 7 PM.

Beausejour Co-op Food Deli (Beausejour) – Buffalo Chicken Potato Wedge Poutine

The Buffalo Chicken Potato Wedge Poutine appetizers start with fresh in-store made potato wedges and homestyle, hand-seasoned fried buffalo chicken. It’s then layered with creamy cheese shreds and finally topped with hot, rich gravy.

Beausejour Co-op has been serving the area since 1951. Since that first year of operations, they have grown to just over 15,000 active members and sales over $60 million.

Hours: this unique dish is only offered Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Beausejour Subway (Beausejour) – Potato Bun Sidekicks

Their new Sidekick Potato Bun appetizer is the perfect snack size sandwich, available in four different builds. Choose between Italian Aioli, Savoury Turkey Ranch, Honey Mustard Ham, or Chipotle Chicken. All come toasted, and if you are not sure which one to try, they are 2 for $5.00!

Beausejour Subway first opened its doors in late 1996 and will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary this summer. Locally owned and operated by the same family since 2004, Subway has become a staple in the community and a go-to spot for lunch amongst everyone.

Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM; Sunday 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Blue Haze Barbecue (Beausejour) – Gochu (Go Choo) Tater Bomb

This unique entrée consists of crispy potato puffs topped with pork belly, gochujang BBQ sauce, pickled ginger, yum yum sauce and cilantro.

Blue Haze is located in Beausejour and has a BBQ, Deli, Catering & Food truck. They have wood-smoked BBQ, classic deli sandwiches, BBQ sauces, hot sauces, spice rubs and much more.

Hours: Tuesday to Wednesday 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Thursday to Saturday 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Colins’ House (Beausejour) – Batata Vada Taco

Mumbai style potato fritter entrée, with cabbage, cilantro and tomatillo relish, red cabbage and garlic sauce on a flour tortilla. It is a vegan appetizer or entrée, and a gluten-free option is available. An appetizer will be one at $4.50 or an entrée of 3 for $12.00.

Colins’ House is located in Beausejour and has been serving the communities for over a year, providing fresh and flavourful dishes with Latin & Asian influence.

Hours: Monday to Sunday 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM.

Oakbank Co-op Food Deli (Oakbank) – Chicken Bacon Ranch Potato Wedge Poutine

The Chicken Bacon Ranch Potato Wedge Poutine appetizers start with fresh, in-store-made potato wedges and homestyle, hand-seasoned fried chicken. It’s layered with creamy cheese shreds and topped with bacon, ranch and fresh green onions.

Hours: this unique dish is only offered from Monday to Saturday, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Spicy Radish Café (Whitemouth) – Grandma Jessie’s Potato Pie

Some call it Galician Pie; the Spicy Radish knows it as potato pie. This dish consists of a mashed potato filling, flavoured with fried onion, toasted buckwheat and cottage cheese baked in a bread crust. Sliced, buttered, then pan-fried, served with sour cream, farmer’s sausage and greens.

This Café serves fresh, creative and familiar food in a modern small-town restaurant in Whitemouth.

Hours: Wednesday to Sunday 11:00 AM to 6:45 PM; Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Peppercorn Restaurant & Fireside Lounge (Oakbank) – Creamy Tuscan Gnocchi

This unique entrée consists of tender potato gnocchi sautéed with fresh mushrooms and sundried tomatoes in a garlic cream and fresh basil sauce, served with grilled garlic and rosemary Foccacia bread.

The Peppercorn is a family-owned licensed restaurant and lounge located in Oakbank that offers a full-service dining experience in a warm and friendly environment, focusing on locally sourced ingredients. Fan favourites include mouth-watering Carver’s Knife steaks, thin-crust pizza topped with Bothwell cheese, handmade wontons and their famous slow-baked cheesecakes.

Hours: Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Closed Monday.

Whitemouth Hotel (Whitemouth) – Twice-baked Potatoes

Potato skins appetizer is stuffed with a flavorful mixture of mashed potatoes and all of the favourites for loaded baked potatoes and topped off with cheese and baked to perfection. These are normally served as a side to their fancier dinners.

Peter and Karen Fedorowich have owned the 135+-year-old hotel for five years. It is home to Big Poppy’s Chicken, started by Peter. People travel from all over to order it from Thursdays to Saturdays.
