Have you ever been to Lac du Bonnet’s Fire & Water Music Festival? If not, you have been missing out on one of the hottest summer music festivals in the province.

For the past 13 years, musicians gather in Lac du Bonnet on August Long Weekend to delight music fans with some of the best independent sounds the province has to offer.

The 2019 Line Up looks spectacular with artists such as Brent Parkin, Jaxon Haldane, Little Miss Higgins, Woody Holler and more!

Little Miss Higgins?! Yes Please. She will be at the Fire and Water Music Festival, which, as we all know, is in the middle of nowhere!

And let’s not forget Eastern Manitoba’s homegrown talent with Cohen Sieg and Ken Kansas set to take the stage over the weekend.

17-year old, multitalented, Cohen Sieg will be performing at Fire & Water Music Festival.
Ken Kansas and the Roaring River Rangers are coming to the Fire and Water Music Festival! His name might be Kansas but you’ll feel all Canucky when you watch his music video Winter Road Rambler Master.

We’d love to share all the artists with you because they are all great, but if we did that, this post would get way too long!

Here are the highlights

Built by a community of volunteers

Fire & Water is a community built, non-profit music festival that will be featuring 20 bands over three days! As you can see from the Line Up, this festival brings everything from folk roots to rock n’ roll to the stage which means that there is definitely something for everyone. A dedicated team of volunteers work year-round to bring this festival together plus another 100 or so join them for the weekend! There are tons of volunteer opportunities available, so if you like helping out, you can get behind the scenes by becoming a volunteer.

An intimate festival like no other

Fire & Water provides an intimate and easy-going atmosphere where the fans and the bands chill out and dance to the sound of the beat coming from the stage. If you have ever wanted the opportunity to get up and close with your favourite indie band, this is the best place to do it!

The festival is also a family-friendly event

Children of all ages can go to discover the world of music. A children’s stage and performers, such as the Teakle Family Circus, will be set up. In addition, Fire & Water has been known for showcasing local youth talent. This year 10 youth performers will take to the stage to charm and captivate the audience with their talents!

For 2019, camping is FREE!

That’s right, spend the entire weekend with music lovers by getting yourself a camping space either one site or a short 15 minute walk away. The sites are unserviced, but the experience you have will be well worth it, as artists will be performing around the music ground fire pits in the late evening . . . If you’ve never been part of a fire pit jam session, it’s truly amazing as artists get together, learn each other’s songs, or make up new ones right in front of you.

More than music

The Artisan Square Craft Sale and Trade Show has approximately 30 vendors bringing a huge selection of art, cosmetics, clothing and more.

The Lac du Bonnet Farmer’s Market will also be in full swing on Saturday with over 80 vendors bringing you the best home-made, fresh-baked, and locally grown goodness.

The Chainsaw Jamboree will also be taking place on-site. Watch as these artists carve logs into beautiful, one of a kind masterpieces right before your eyes.

No festival is complete without food! Blue Haze BBQ, Bono’s Bubble Tea and Smoothies, and Adele’s Mini Doughnuts.

This August Long, head on out to Lac du Bonnet and discover how the Fire & Water Music Festival will make your heart beat in Eastern Manitoba.
