Get out and active this week! There are always tons of events and activities happening all over the Eastman, the only hard part is deciding where to start! This week you can experience live entertainment, celebrate St. Patrick’s day early, take various workshops to learn a new skill or discover a hobby, and so much more!

Full Moon Yoga & Gong Meditation

March 9 – Shine Your Light – La Broquerie

Carole will guide you through a seasonal yoga at Full Moon Yoga & Gong Meditation.


Carole will lead you through a meditation honoring the moon accompanied by Todd Koga. Todd a drummer / percussionist for over 35 years, recently began exploring gongs, and found the vibration and sound extremely beneficial to his personal wellness .

Ancient instruments, many people believe that every sound in the universe can be channeled through the gong. The sound and vibration may be beneficial in reducing stress , enhancing mediation and removing emotional blockages to bring you a beautiful evening of gentle moon yoga and guided meditation along with the vibrations of a gong concert.

Octavious in Transition Live!

March 11 – The Listening Room – Lac du Bonnet

Octavious in Transition was formed a year or so ago, as a local group of musicians getting together to play music and have some fun. As their repertoire of songs grew, Octavious decided it was time to start hitting the road to do some gigging. They started showing up regularly at open mics across southern Manitoba and have played numerous fund-raising events and outdoor bashes.

Their song list includes a mix of country, bluesy jazz, easy listening, and light rock favourites. Seven members strong, Octavious in Transition delivers vibrant tunes with little twists here and there to keep audiences listening.

Finding Joy: Art Therapy Retreat

Live Music Night – Matt Zimmerman

March 13 – Hespeler’s Cookhouse & Tavern – Niverville

Matt Zimmerman is a singer songwriter living in Kleefeld, MB. He fronts a Celtic rock band called Tom Foolery and has a self-titled Country music project that performs covers and originals. Matt holds a music degree from Brandon University and has performed from Banff, AB to St. John’s, NL. He has opened for Country recording artist Aaron Pritchett, headlined events like Canada150 at Riding Mountain National Park, and has performed at countless fairs, festivals, pubs, and special events.

An Evening With The Andrew Collins Trio

March 13 – Pinawa Community Centre – Pinawa

EMCA is excited to host The Andrew Collins Trio!

The award-winning Andrew Collins Trio have been playing together for about 10 years. Based out of Toronto, they have toured extensively both nationally and internationally. Get ready to hang onto your hats as their lively mix of music races past your ears.

They are masters of spontaneous improvisations and humour on stage as they blend genres including folk, jazz, bluegrass, celtic, and classical with multiple instruments including mandolin, mandola, mandocello, violin, guitar, bass and vocals.

The Human Condition Spring Comedy Tour

March 13 – The Peppercorn Restaurant & Fireside Lounge – Oakbank

The Human Condition Spring Comedy Tour makes a stop in Oakbank!

After a very successful run last September The Human Condition Comedy Tour are doing it again! This coming March three comedians (Scott Belford, Adam Mac and Scott Porteous) will be touring in Western Canada to raise awareness and funds for various different local charities.

Dr. Rocktopus

March 13 – Ste. Anne Hotel – Ste. Anne

Everyone get ready to move! Doctor Rocktopus is heading to Ste. Anne on March 13.

Recently discovered under the funky coral reef found in and around the Winnipeg area. Dr Rocktopus is here! Now accepting new patients to feel the funk and rock that makes ya wanna dance till your legs don’t work no mo’!

Dr. Rocktopus was formed in August of 2017 by Reed Hein, Daniel Devain, Brian Teichroew, and Tyson Lavallee. The group’s sound primarily focuses on funky grooves, sweet beats, and sing alongs that are sure to get anybody on the dance floor, regardless of age or dancing skill.

Ice Fishing at Lyons Lake

March 15 – Lyons Lake – Whiteshell Provincial Park

Discover the fun family activity of ice fishing! Learn the techniques and regulations then head out onto Lyons Lake to a pre-drilled hole to try to catch a trout, raised at the local Whiteshell Fish Hatchery. All gear provided, or bring your own!

The Paper Bag Princess

March 15 – Dawson Trail School – Lorette

Prairie Theatre Exchange is coming to Lorette and bringing the indelible and charismatic characters of Robert Munsch to vibrant life on the stage!

Robert Munsch’s most popular and beloved story, The Paper Bag Princess, will be adapted into a one hour play. Visit Princess Elizabeth’s world and see more of her adventures on her way to rescue the not-so-nice Prince Ronald.

Snowshoeing & Sweet Treats

March 15 – Marchand

Join Nature’s Edge Tourism for Snowshoe Tour & Sweet Treats, the last snowshoe of the season in Marchand – home to the gateway of the Sandilands Provincial Park.

Meet your group of snowshoers at the Marchand Inn at 10 am and car pool to the private trails. This snowshoe is perfect for beginners and those wanting an easy trek. You will explore the forest, have a snack stop at the Pond and circle back to the starting point. Hot beverages and local sweets from a Red Seal Pastry Chef will be a treat on this tour!
