Can’t decide what to do this Long Weekend? We have you covered with our list of upcoming events, festivals and activities happening this week in the Eastman Region. Get a tour of the new museum in St. Georges, or if you feel nostalgic, head over to Pine Falls for 90s’ Night. And one festival you can not miss out on is Chamber Eats in Beausejour! A two-week festival that if you miss your stomach will seriously be upset with you.
Breakthrough – Free Movie Night
August 30 – Whiteshell Baptist Church – Seven Sisters Fall
Breakthrough is based on the inspirational true story of one mother’s unfaltering love in the face of impossible odds. When Joyce Smith’s adopted son John falls through an icy Missouri lake, all hope seems lost. But as John lies lifeless, Joyce refuses to give up. Her steadfast belief inspires those around her to continue to pray for John’s recovery, even in the face of every case history and scientific prediction.
Breakthrough is an enthralling reminder that faith and love can create a mountain of hope, and sometimes even a miracle.
August 31 and September 1 – Runs with Scissors Studio – Winnipeg Beach
Proutopia is the art market that thinks it’s a festival! With 30 artists setting up and showcasing their fantastic art this is definitely a day that you can’t miss out on. Visitors from New York City, Ontario and so many other places around the world will be there. Stop and see the human-sized birdhouse, a life drawing model, live music and so much more!
4P Sneak Peek Tours at the New Museum
August 31 – Winnipeg River Heritage Museum – St. Georges
