Debonair Campground (St. Malo)

Debonair Campground is the perfect spot to visit if you need a break from city life. With 203 campsites (186 of them are seasonal and 17 casual overnight sites), you have your choice of ways to relax.

Enjoy the private beach only a short walk from your campsite. The palm trees surrounding the beach will transport you to the tropical beach that you have been dreaming of all summer! While you soak up some sun, your littles can be busy using the play structures throughout the campground.

There are a variety of things that the whole family can enjoy while staying at Debonair. Go on a geocaching adventure and find amazing little treasures. Be a good sport and take advantage of the horseshoes and volleyball courts.

Offsite (but not far), you can enjoy the St. Malo & District Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Visit the St. Malo Provincial Park for a picnic and walk the grounds to connect with nature.

Another attraction is the Saint-Malo Shrine and Grotto, a reproduction of the Grotto in Lourdes, France.  St Malo Grotto hosts an annual public pilgrimage mid-August. Celebration of the Eucharist, confessions and an afternoon of prayer and meditation.

Geocaching in Sunrise Corner

What better activity to do with your friends and family than geocaching? And going on this treasure hunt is never better than when you’re in the Sunrise Corner!

Sunrise Corner includes the towns of Vita, Vassar, South Junction, Sprague, Woodridge, Gardenton, and Piney. With more than ten caches waiting to be found, you’ll spend hours having fun, exploring nature, and leave with amazing treasures! But remember, there is an etiquette to geocaching. If you take anything from the cache, you must replace it. For additional information about the etiquette of geocaching, visit our blog, Hot This Week: Geocaching.

While out on your hunt, it’s more than just searching for the caches. Many of the caches are near the RMs of Stuartburn and Piney’s local attractions and historical sites.

Granite Hills Golf Club (Lac du Bonnet)

Calling all golfers! If you can’t get enough of the green, then your next stop should be Granite Hills Golf Club. This eighteen-hole course is one that is hard to forget. The course itself is breathtaking. From the soothing lull of water by the shoreline, viewing the abundant wildlife that inhabits the birch, poplar, and pine trees all along the course, and, of course, the astonishing outcroppings of granite rock.

No golf course is complete without a restaurant. Granite Hills is known for having mouthwatering breakfast selection, homemade soups, fresh sandwiches and wraps. If you need something a little more filling than their burgers, hot dogs and smokies will do the trick!
