The Eastern communities and organizations are just as excited for Christmas as you are and they’re showing it with these amazing events! There are lots of ways to celebrate the magical time of Christmas and gathering together with family, friends and neighbours to share memories is probably one of the greatest. Get into the Christmas groove at one of these Eastern events and share some of that good ‘ol Christmas cheer!

Janelle Nadeau Prairie Christmas

November 29 – Pinawa Community Centre – Pinawa

One of the best ways to celebrate Christmas is with music. Head over to Pinawa to listen to Janelle Nadeau’s Prairie Christmas concert! Listen to beautiful Christmas songs sung by the talented Janelle Nadeau and harmonized with harps and medieval instruments. Nadeau will be singing songs from her recently released holiday album “Star of Night” which has received international praise and has been referred to as a new holiday classic.

Christmas Celebration & Dinner

November 30 – Brokenhead River Community Hall – Beausejour

The Beausejour & District Chamber of Commerce is throwing one heck of a party! Spend the night at the Christmas Celebration for a whole lot of fun. Enjoy a delicious meal catered by Blue Water Whole Hog and then head out to the dance floor while Winnipeg band, 5 O’clock Somewhere, plays all night long. Bring your kids too because there will be a special appearance from Santa!

Santa Claus Parade & Tree Lighting

November 30 – Pinawa

Who doesn’t love parades? Head on over to Pinawa for one of the best kinds of parades – A Santa Claus Parade! See amazing and creative floats drive-by you. But, that’s not all! Continue the festivities at the Community Centre for Pinawa’s 5th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. They also have Festival of Trees where you get to vote for the best decorated Christmas tree. Enjoy the night with songs, yummy food, photos with Santa and, best of all, Christmas cheer.

CP Holiday Train

December 2 – Whitemouth

The CP Holiday Train is coming to Whitemouth! Have a whole load of fun and family time all the while supporting Food Banks in the area! Listen to fantastic live music by two incredibly talented Canadian artists – Madeline Merlo and Scott Helman.

Madeline Merlo is from Maple Ridge, BC, is a CCMA Award and two-time BCCMA Award-winning artist with five Top 15 singles under her belt. She has always had eclectic taste, and in her music, you’ll hear the influence of classic country artists like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, R&B greats Etta James and Billie Holiday and modern superstars such as Miranda Lambert.

Finding his musical influences in album-focused artists like Arcade Fire, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, The Cure, Bon Iver and Paul Simon, Canadian singer-songwriter Scott Helman has established himself as one of the country’s leading young songwriters, earning himself four JUNO Award nominations.

Christmas Town

December 7 – Whitetail Meadow – Niverville

Have your kids ever wondered what it takes to be an elf? Have they dreamed about not only talking to Mrs. Claus but having her read stories to them? Are they so excited for photos with Santa that they can’t wait any longer? You can do all these wonderful things at Niverville’s Christmas Town Market! Your kids can attend Elf School, where they learn everything about being an elf and create their very own elf name. After they can write letters their letters to Santa and even get to meet him in person! So, dress in your very best and enjoy a night of Christmas magic!
