On Canada Day (July 1st) 2017 join us for the epic journey of 150 miles across the rich beauty of the Canadian Shield. The point to point course begins alongside the powerful Winnipeg River at Great Falls, taking you for a tour of the historical hydro electric dams along the edge of the shield until you are deep in the woods and skirting across pre-Cambrian Rock faces. Eight full aid stations and numerous water drops will sustain you as your voyage takes you to the finish line at the south east end of Falcon Lake, descending the ski hills of Falcon Trails Resort. Recognizing that not everyone is up to running 150 miles in one shot, we’re adding a 3 by 50 mile relay option. Find two friends and sign up for a great weekend on the trails. This is a one time event to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday; you do not want to miss this chance to truly challenge yourself!

Prairie Day

Feel, see and experience the tall grass prairie. Guided walks, special presentations by wildlife experts, and activities for the kids provide an opportunity to learn about this amazing endangered ecosystem. It is a place where waving grasses stand nearly two meters high. It is a place where plants smell of licorice, peaches, oregano, and chocolate. It is a place where the bubbling sound of bobolinks and wolf-whistles of upland sandpipers will bring a smile to anyone’s face. It is the largest remnant of tall grass prairie in Canada, nestled between the towns of Tolstoi, Gardenton and Vita.

It is a place of solitude and peace – a place where time stands still.
