Experiential Tourism Program
Experiential tourism is a form of tourism in which people focus on experiencing a particular place by actively and meaningfully engaging with its history, people, culture, food, and environment. Experiential tourism connects visitors with the essence of a place and its people. It engages guests in a series of memorable travel adventures, revealed over time, which are inherently personal, engage the senses, and make connections on an emotional, physical, spiritual, or intellectual level. 2021-2023
DownloadThe Eastman Tourism Association (ETA) staff and Board of Directors are pleased to share our vision, mission, guiding principles, priorities, and planned strategies/activities for the next three years. The 2021-2023 Strategic Plan is the result of various planning activities that took place from October 2020 to February 2021 and resulted in a clear and unified sense of priorities and direction. A collaborative approach to planning was desired so input was sought from ETA members and partners prior to strategic planning discussions. A wide variety of ideas and opinions emerged and were discussed in a systematic manner that allowed the priorities and directions to rise to the top. It is our hope that all stakeholders associated with Eastman Tourism Association, take some time to review the Strategic Plan. The vision, mission, guiding principles and priorities of the organization will be considered within all future planning efforts associated with Eastman Tourism Association. A new plan will be developed in 2023 so stay tuned for even bigger things to come from Eastman Tourism.

Noel Linsey
Executive Director
When Executive Director duties for Eastman Tourism wrap for the day, Noel can be found leading motorcycle tours throughout Eastman and beyond with his business – Epic Rides Moto Tours. Noel’s favourite things to do in Eastern Manitoba include exploring the myriad of backroads and trails on his motorcycle, fly fishing, hunting, spending time with his wonderful family at the cabin, indulging in his photographic pursuits and playing music. Noel has spent the past decade working with nonprofits in the wildlife and resource tourism sphere, and is a lifelong lover of all things outdoors. Explorer Quotient: Cultural Explorer
Angela Smook
History & Museums
As Chair of Eastman Tourism, Angela brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She's the Director of Programs and Communications at Manitoba Eastern European Heritage Society - MEEHS, studied Bachelor of Education, Senior Years History and English as an Additional Language at University of Manitoba and studied History (of Ukrainian immigration) at University of Manitoba. She is also the co-chair for the Association of Manitoba Museums and is currently the acting chair.
Liz Robertson
Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA)
Liz and her husband, Percy are residents of the RM of Whitemouth. They owned The Dam Restaurant in Seven Sisters Falls but family commitments required them to close. Liz and Percy enjoy walking in the woods, kayaking and snowshoeing. Liz has her Master of Arts and is the Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA) Inc., a national not-for-profit that is dedicated to assisting farm families and businesses by increasing the skills and knowledge of farm advisors.
Bob Kovachik
Retired Vice Principal, Lord Selkirk School Division
Bob is the Vice Chair for the Eastman Tourism Board of Directors. He and his wife Monica live in Belair right on the Eastern shoreline of Lake Winnipeg. Together they own and operate Pebble Springs Bed and Breakfast. Eastern Manitoba offers their guests so many experiences connected to nature and the outdoors. Bob's connection to nature is a four season love affair. His reason to become involved with Eastman Tourism is his skills as a business owner and retired school administrator to create an awareness and opportunities for others to discover and enjoy outdoor experiences the Eastman region has to offer.
Sean Michaels
Councilor, RM of Brokenhead
Sean lives his life by the quote, "Everyday you have the opportunity to learn and experience something and someone new. Seize the opportunity. Learn and experience everything you can, and use it to change the world!” Sean has been elected to the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead since June 2009 by the residents. One of his favorite boards is Eastman Tourism. His wife Joanne, son Riley and their kitten Jaxson, are lifelong residents of Beausejour/Brokenhead. Sean loves family travel, recreation and getting out in nature. His favorite activities are cycling and hiking new trails. Sean and Joanne were distributors of various local, provincial and national newspapers covering all of southern Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, parts of northern Minnesota and North Dakota for 23 years. “Time in nature is not cancelled!”
Diana Cline
Councilor, RM of DeSalaberry
Multiple time international, award winning artisan pizza chef, judge, small business owner, partner at Diana's Cucina and Lounge, writer for Canadian Pizza magazine, Councillor for RM DeSalaberry (Otterburne Ward).
Chantelle Parrott
Economic Development Officer, Beausejour Brokenhead Development Corporation
Chantelle's experience, skills and background are diverse. With her information technology background, branding and marketing knowledge, communications, and experience on the Tourism Westman board, it made her an ideal director on the Eastman Tourism board. Chantelle loves seeking waterfalls and being in nature.
Jan Scherpenzeel
Councilor, Town of Powerview-Pine Falls
Residing in Powerview-Pine Falls for the past 17 years, Jan, his wife Sharon and family have been ambassadors for the community. He decided to become more involved and ran for council. Now a councilor for the Town, he has been involved in bringing more tourism to the community. Jan also is a member of the Winnipeg River Corridor Committee. Now retired from his 45 years working in heavy construction as an operator and later a supervisor dealing with environmental planning, construction infrastructure, and transportation, it has allowed him to develop strong organizational, planning, and communication skills. More recently Jan is investing more time with family, community, and his passion for carpentry and design (Creations by Jan). If you can’t find him working in the shop, you can certainly find him cheering on the grandkids or actively supporting the town at events, Jan extends an open invitation to join him every Friday at 5:00pm for the meat draw at the Legion. Everyone is welcome!
